Over 20 full sized steam engines will be colouring our new home, Leisure Lakes’ pastures on this (hopefully) fine April weekend, including the only surviving Foden-built Showman’s engine ‘Prospector’.
Steam fans will be thrilled with the authentic results and attention to detail our full-size and miniature engine owners uphold.
Hundreds of vintage and classic vehicles will be gleaming at Leisure Lakes too, including some very impressive cars, tractors and military vehicles. Which exhibit will be your favourite?
Stunning exhibits aside, a fair just wouldn’t be a fair without a plethora of activities to keep us entertained and we’ve got more than enough to keep the young and not-so-young alike happy!
For the little ones and the young at heart the children’s fairground is always a storming success and big wheel isn’t enough to stir up the nostalgia in you then the 100 year old Steam-powered gallopers and organ should definitely do the job.
A miniature railway will also be running throughout the weekend for rides.
Aunt Nellies Victorian tea room will be on hand with hefty slabs of cakes and afternoon tea accompanied by live music.
Stalls will be springing up here, there and everywhere too, so take a look for some foodie delights you wouldn’t normally experience.
While we know you’ll be having a blast, proceeds from the day help a very worthy cause and go towards supporting local charities in need of a helping hand.
In the eight years our Steam and Vintage Vehicle Rally has been running, an impressive £267,238 has been raised and it would make our weekend if this year the total exceeded last year’s charity bounty of £24,934
Can we beat it? Of course we can!!!
